PENDLETON, Ore. In partnership with the Epson Tour, the official qualifying circuit of the LPGA, the three-day tournament begins Friday, Aug. 21, and concludes in the late afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 23, with the final round and trophy presentation. Each day of competition begins at 7:15am at Wildhorse Golf Course, the championship course on the resort property.

The Epson Tour’s Race for the Card is a season-long points competition that awards LPGA Tour membership to the top 15 players at the season’s conclusion. All 15 golfers ranked in the current standings are in the final tournament field. No. 2 Kaleiya Romero, a native of San Jose, California, and former assistant coach for the University of Oregon women’s golf team, played last weekend in The Standard Portland Classic, an LPGA event.

Additional ties to the Pacific Northwest are also prevalent. Kennewick, Washington, native Therese Warner joins the field for the fifth consecutive year. Two sponsor exemptions, Victoria Gailey and Gabby Barker, hail from Tigard, Oregon, and Caldwell, Idaho, respectively. Epson Tour professional Lauryn Nguyen is a native of Seattle and has a tournament victory to her credit in her first season on the Epson Tour. Sarah Rhee is also a native of Seattle and played collegiate golf at the University of Washington.

An overview of player entries reveals 141 golfers in total, with 89 professionals from the U.S. and Puerto Rico, including 22 from California, 12 from Texas and nine from Florida.

There are 52 international golfers representing countries from as far away as Australia, Japan and France; this total includes seven from Canada and the People’s Republic of China, respectively, as well as five from both Thailand and Chinese Taipei.
