PCC sells to CTUIR, Wildhorse to run operations

Today, at the southwest edge of the original 510,000 acres reserved for the Walla Walla, Cayuse and Umatilla tribes in the Treaty of 1855, lies a 248 acre parcel of land known as the Pendleton Country Club (PCC).  Owned by its membership, the property is asymmetrically divided by the meandering Birch Creek which was designated as a boundary in the Treaty and lies well within aboriginal territory.

While PCC operated successfully there since 1928, membership dwindled over recent years, making it difficult to stay afloat.  With the cost of maintenance exceeding income, PCC leadership made the decision to sell the property.  The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) had an interest and approached the PCC leadership with a proposal.

After months of due diligence and deliberation, the two parties came to an agreement and the sale was finalized.

Once again stewards of the Birch Creek Valley land, the CTUIR will delegate operation of the golf course and facilities to Wildhorse Resort & Casino.  Wildhorse currently operates an 18-hole golf course on resort property as well as other recreational entities.
